As you may have read here before, last year I challenged myself to an experiment to only shop at thrift stores for my clothing. That was last year and, while I’ve since allowed myself a little leway, I still hit my local Goodwill quite frequently to see what I can find.
I’ve had this white secretary blouse for a while now, but I just couldn’t find anything bold enough to wear it with – until I found these dark red pants and dark red patent pumps.
A note about red: it can be a striking color, but it doesn’t always have to be a bright shade. Dark red, like these pants and shoes, can actually be worn as a neutral. Take a look in your closet and see what other colors you have which can be worn as neutrals – think woodsy green and warm plum for Fall.
PS – my photos are by the lovely Michelle Carrillo of The Suitcase Studio. She was so much fun to work with and did a great job at getting me out of my shell!

Great style! I love that secretary blouse. Thrifting is like a treasure hunt for me and I love it when I find quality piece. You have pulled together a great outfit. The photos by Michelle are fantastic… and you location looks awfully familiar. Is that old town Tustin?
