For the 3rd makeover with stylist Tera Rae Stephens, we chose working mom Alicia L. from Rancho Santa Margarita. Tera and I worked with her on her wardrobe and hairstyle – you can read Tera’s side of the makeover here.
When I met with Alicia, I learned that she already had a great wardrobe – she was just having trouble putting together inspired outfits. First we went through her closet and removed everything that didn’t fit. We all have at least a few items in our closets that might be a little snug. However, hang on to them at your own risk; items that are too small taunt you with their very existence.
You don’t need that kind of ridicule, in what should be your most sacred of self-loving spaces – your closet.
Next, we met up for a shopping trip. Alicia was missing pants and skirts, and I wanted to see if we could add some sleek and dark denim to her wardrobe. Since finding pants that fit and flatter can be a tough experience, most of us just avoid it all together. But the truth is that we just have to try on, perhaps, dozens of pairs to find what works.
Alicia and I found two pair of color denim, some dark jeans and a black pencil skirt to add to her wardrobe. we also found a gorgeous green cardigan, a flirty blue top and a pair of black peep-toe pumps. The rest of what you see below was from her existing wardrobe.
