Ready, Set – Dress! is named so because I want my clients to have the confidence to create an outfit for any occasion and feel stylish and confident. This feeling starts with the following:
- basic knowledge of the elements of a well-rounded wardrobe
- an organized and concise wardrobe
- outfit and wardrobe planning skills and tools
The session begins with a discussion about the client’s work and social scenarios to determine their wardrobe needs. A multimedia presentation (presented in their home via iPad) gives them an overview of essential garments. Instead of prescribing a series of bland basics, I teach the client a completely differently way of thinking about her wardrobe. She’ll know how to build her unique wardrobe and how to make it work everyday.
Next, we edit her wardrobe to remove any garments which aren’t right for her. I typically remove about 15 – 30% of a client’s wardrobe. This might sound extreme, however it’s an important step because it rids the wardrobe of visual noise so the client can dress herself better.
Once the wardrobe is edited, it gets organized in a way which helps the client choose expressive outfits in the most simple and efficient way. I end the service by planning two weeks of outfits.
